Iran ranks 1st in IPC Powerlifting Asian Open Championships

TEHRAN, Jul. 31 (MNA) – Iranian athletes ranked first in the 2015 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting Asian Open Championships on Thursday.

Gaining 70 points in Asia section and 69 points in freestyle (FS) section of the international championship, Iran's team ended the 2015 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Powerlifting Asian Open Championships ranking 1st in the games, gaining 7 gold and 3 silver medals.

The games held by the Kazakhstan, hosted 21 countries from Asia and 7 from various parts of the world.

At the final ranking, the Iranian, Chinese, and Jordanian teams ranked first to third with 70, 69 and 24 points, respectively, in the Asian competitions section.

In freestyle section, too, similarly, Iran, China and Jordan ranked 1st to 3rd with 69, 68 and 40 points, respectively.

The Iranian medal winners in the games were Amir Jafari, Nader Moradi, Mohammad Farzin, Seyyed Ahmed Salehipur, Saman Razi, Ali Sadeghzadeh, Ahmad Aminzadeh and Siamand Rahman.
